PROCUREMENT & CONTRACTS COMMITTEE

The Procurement & Contracts Committee (P&C Committee) of the Consulting Architects of Alberta (CAA) is dedicated to improving procurement and contracting processes within the Architectural industry. Recognizing that procurement of consulting services differs significantly from purchasing products or other services, the committee aims to standardize and enhance these practices.​

ADVANCING BEST PRACTICES IN ARCHITECTURAL
PROCUREMENT AND CONTRACTING

​KEY OBJECTIVES:

  • Standardization of Practices: Address the variations in procurement methods and contract agreements by promoting industry-standard contracts developed collaboratively by consultants, construction contractors, insurance, and client organizations.​
     

  • Client Engagement: Initiate and maintain discussions with client groups to address procurement and contract issues, striving to engage in higher-level conversations about best practices.​
     

  • Member Support: Keep CAA members informed about procurement opportunities, potential issues, and contract considerations, fostering an open dialogue regarding ongoing concerns.​
